Costa Rica: On the Wind Star
January 28 – February 7
Renowned for its preservation of natural habitat and wildlife diversity, Costa Rica makes the natural environment easily accessible. This program features a visit to the highland rainforests in the center of the country, coupled with a cruise along the Pacific coast.
The trip offers a wide range of ports of call, experienced in a leisurely and comfortable style. In addition, you will spend a few nights in a lodge in the cloud forest of Monteverde National Reserve discovering a host of wild orchids as well as hundreds of species of mammals and birds. You will then descend the 5,000 feet to the coast to board the Wind Star. Our yacht’s open bridge allows guests to drop by and acquaint themselves with the ship’s officers, happy to demonstrate the vessel’s capabilities to you.
Sail from Puerto Caldera to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, and to many fascinating locations along Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, including Playas del Coco, Manuel Antonio National Park, Corcovado National Park, and Tortuga Island, exploring secluded beaches and rainforests. Walk along a suspended catwalk in the rainforest canopy, snorkel amid colorful tropical fish, explore mangrove swamps in search of crocodiles and other wildlife, and learn from experts about the great biodiversity that Costa Rica offers.
