Immerse yourself in the allure of Indochina, while cruising in style along the fabled “Waterway of the Nine Dragons,” the Mekong River, aboard the deluxe, newly launched M.V. JAYAVARMAN. Travel from the French colonial districts of cosmopolitan Saigon to “Old Asia” in Phnom Penh and encounter a timeless world of tranquil rice paddies, authentic floating villages and grand pagodas and palaces that recall the glories of bygone empires. Your journey culminates in the lush jungles of Cambodia amid the magnificent 12th-century Khmer temples and sculptures of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Angkor Wat, one of the world’s most sublime monuments.
Special additions include an evening of authentic Khmer dance and cuisine, meetings with local residents—including a former Vietnamese soldier and survivor of the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia, and a lecture on current Vietnam – U.S. relations at the former home of U.S. Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge. M.V. Jayavarman
Designed in a distinctive French Colonial style, the M.V. Jayavarman is equipped to navigate the waterways of Indochina and to call in small ports inaccessible to larger ships. All 27 outside staterooms and suites are quite spacious (between 225 and 280 square feet) and have private bathrooms and balconies. They are furnished with vintage Vietnamese, Khmer and colonial décor; and have private balconies. Meals, featuring Asian and European cuisine prepared with fresh local ingredients, are served in a spacious, inviting dining room. Additional amenities include a stylish bar, two sun decks, a library with Internet stations and a deluxe health and beauty spa.
Special group activities include cooking demonstrations, fruit and drink tastings, and physical activities, including traditional morning Tai Chi lessons.
