South Africa Revealed: A Journey through the Rainbow Nation

November 10 – 21

MoroccoOur journey begins in Cape Town, known as the Rainbow Nation because of its cultural, ethnic, and culinary diversity, and includes visits to the Southern tip of Africa - the Cape of Good Hope and the top of Table Mountain. Enjoy the stunning scenery and delicious wines in Stellenbosch and Franschoek while savoring the magnificent Cape Malay culinary delights - a cacophony of Asian, European, and African herbs and spices. Tour Robben Island, the infamous maximum-security prison that once housed Nobel Prize recipient Nelson Mandela. Learn about this dynamic country while dining in the home of a local family. Spend an afternoon volunteering at the nearby township of Khayelitsha. Morocco

Travel to Johannesburg and experience the excitement of a vibrant African city. A visit to the Apartheid Museum will educate us on how this nation emerged from the dark days of forced segregation to being a modern nation where generations of ethnic groups live side-by-side in Soweto - formerly a black township where civil rights leaders such as Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu began their struggle for freedom. We will stay in Sandton a thriving modern shopping and restaurant district, located just outside the Johannesburg city limits.
