Installing the AAVC Connections Application on Facebook
The Alumnae and Alumni of Vassar College (AAVC) now offers Vassar alumnae/i the ability to seamlessly connect between their AAVC Online Community and Facebook profiles! This connection eliminates the hassle of updating multiple profiles - update one profile and both are automatically updated. You'll also you'll be able to visit AAVC's website from within your Facebook page, where you can find fellow alumnae/i, check out online class eNotes, or join a discussion group. Once you've logged in, you will never have to log in again from Facebook.
This tutorial will show you how to connect the Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections application with your Facebook account. You will need to be registered on Facebook and logged in to your account. Click here to go to the Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections Page on Facebook and follow the instructions below.
Go to the Application on the Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections Page
Once you are on the Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections Facebook page select Go to Application.
Allow Access
Facebook will ask if you want to permit Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections to access your profile. Select Allow.
Link Facebook to Your AAVC Online Community Account
Before you can take advantage of Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections' features you must first link it to your Facebook account. Select Link your Facebook Account. You will need to register on the AAVC website (www.aavc.vassar.edu) if you have not already done so (select Register Now).
Login to Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections
Login to Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections with the username and password from your AAVC Online Community account (1) . If you have forgotten your username or password select Forgot (2).
Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections Page
After your profiles are linked you'll have access to all the features that Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections offers. From this page you can update your alumna/us profile and contact information with Vassar (1), search for classmates, and post class eNotes, as well as many other things (2). You can also view Upcoming Events on this page (3).
Bookmark Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections in Facebook
On the bottom toolbar in Facebook there is a Bookmark icon. Select it to add Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections to your application bookmarks.
Using the Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections Bookmark
There should now be a bookmark for the Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections page on your toolbar in the lower left-hand corner. You can select it to access Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections quickly from any page in Facebook.
Organize Your Application Bookmarks
You can re-organize your bookmarks by dragging them into the order you'd like in the Applications menu on the bottom left-hand corner of your screen. Select Applications to open the menu and then drag-and-drop items where you want them. Only the top six applications in the list will be visible on your bottom toolbar.
Adding Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections to Your Boxes Tab
Go to the Applications button on the bottom toolbar, click it to bring up your Applications list, and select Edit Applications.

On the Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections row select Edit Settings.

In the profile tab of the Edit Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections Settings popup, next to the Box: Available setting, select add.
Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections Added to Boxes Tab
The Box setting should now display Added. Select Okay to close the popup.
Verify Box Was Added
Select Profile in the top toolbar to go to your profile.
Go to Boxes Tab
Select the Boxes Tab. The Boxes tab is the home for all of your applications. Applications are a core part of the Facebook experience, and the Boxes tab allows you to keep the applications you’ve authorized in a single, organized space.
View Boxes Tab
Alumnae & Alumni of Vassar College Connections should be visible on your Boxes page. From here you can access all the great features it has to offer. Select Keep your alumna/us profile up-to-date to update your profile.
